Ilchi Lee’s Special Acupuncture Healing
By Michela | October 25, 2008
Dahn Yoga techniques are based on the same Asian medical principles as acupunture.
Now, Ilchi Lee has combined acupuncture with his latest mind-body Brain Education method, Brain Wave Vibration.
Called WoonKi Acupunture, it is done by putting an acupuncture needle in a person’s Baekhoe, or the point at the top of their head where many meridian channels meet that is also the opening to the seventh chakra. With the needle still inserted, the patient then does a specially guided Brain Wave Vibration session.
The brochure for the method says that, “WoonKi Acupunture helps to release tension that blocks the flow of ki energy in the body through directly opening and activating the energy in the brain, thereby improving your overall sense of vitality and health.”
Now, I do Brain Wave Vibration almost every day, and I tried WoonKi Acupunture once. Having the acupuncture needle in my Baekhoe made the exercise so much more powerful. A lot more energy than usual released from my body and my brain felt so much clearer and brighter, i.e., happier. After that, the effects over the next couple of days were more subtle, too subtle for me to remember at the moment. But I promise to record them if I ever do it again.
Unfortunately for the general public, for the moment there is only one person in the United States doing WoonKi Acupunture. Banya Lim, of the BR Clinic in Sedona, Arizona, is an acupuncturist from a long-line of Oriental Medicine Practitioners. She was taught WoonKi Acupuncture by Ilchi Lee and now does it on her lucky patients. Here are a few testimonials about it that I found:
“I have had high blood pressure for over 40 years. Before WoonKi Acupuncture my pressure was about 150/89. This is while being on three different medications to keep my blood pressure down. My new blood pressure readings have been as low as 106/76. This is nothing short of a miracle!” -Ron Cohen, Utica, MI
“I now have a strong and healthy body. The energy flow circulates beautifully throughout my entire body without blockage. I could feel the energy moving–especially around my neck and shoulders where I usually have a blockage. I felt the energy spread from the top of my head to my temples.” -Veronique Bane
“Now I have healthy lungs and no allergies. The energy cleared my congestion in my lower lungs and opened up small air sacs and tubes. I could feel it happening! My sinuses cleared up immediately!” - Donna Winte, Sedona, AZ
Based on my experience in the Dahn Yoga centers, I think results such as these can be maintained by a steady Dahn Yoga practice. I’m glad they found some benefit from this simple but powerful healing modality.

Hi Michela,
Very, very interesting. Makes a lot of sense, though I would like to know more about the BWV training that accompanies it (Woonki). Thus, if I ever wanted to try this I could only do so by booking an appointment with Banya at the BR clinic in Sedona, correct?

Hi Andrew,
As far as I know Banya Lim is the only professional in the northeast who does it so far. But it may expand at some point.
Although woonki acupuncture is more effective with guided meditation and focus, if you can have an acupuncture needle put in your baek hoe, then you can try doing brain wave vibration with it. Have you tried Brain Wave Vibration yet? There is a “How to” video on www.brainwavevibration.com.
Best wishes,
Michela
