Yoga’s spiritual side
By Michela | November 8, 2007
Today a very active woman who only comes to Boston once in a while came to my class. She had taken the class a couple times last spring and has a small class card to the center. Although she plays tennis, used to run every day, took Kundalini teacher training, and takes a Kripalu style yoga regularly, what struck me the most is that she is very interested in the spiritual side of yoga. She likes how her regular local teacher is emphasizes the spiritual aspect of yoga, and felt a connection in class today. This inpsires me because it’s actually my favorite part as well. People come to the Dahn Yoga centers for many different reasons and have many different goals, so I’ve tended not to emphasize the spiritual side of yoga too much. But it is a natural part of the practice that even benefits people whose goal is to become more flexible or to age gracefully. (Dahn Yoga is very good for that actually.) This woman was a good reminder to be proud of what I love ![]()
