My body is not me, but mine
By Phil | September 23, 2007
Dahn Yoga practitioners around the world speak this phrase “My body is not me, but mine” with great enthusiasm. I am not my body, but the master of my body. When I first heard this phrase, I thought this is very simple and a matter of course. However, while I kept thinking on it and meditate on it, one day the phrase suddenly came to my mind with a different meaning. How much deeply am I living on the simple principle? Am I really the master of my body? Or, am I doing something because it is comfortable and easy for my body to do it? Am I the true master of the body?
I really want to become the master of my body. That’s why I do practice Dahn Yoga again today.
What do you think about the simple phrase? “My body is not me, but mine?”

Just think…..my body is not me, but mine. My mind is not me, but mine. I choose every day to use my body and my mind in many different ways. But how often do we do things mindlessly, with no conscious intention.
Try to truly live in each moment as it occurs. Notice the stars at night, the beauty of the colors of sunrise, or the way the clouds change hue as the sun sets. Hear the birds singing, and pay close attention the next time your husband or child tells a story about their day.
Be fully aware of how precious each moment of our lives is…..it will change your outlook in every aspect of your existence. Be grateful ~ give thanks!

I am thankful that Dahn Yoga has taught me to be conscious of my body in every moment and not neglect it. I can become master of my body by keeping in tune with it and fine-tuning my control over it.

Instinct maintains my body but through Dahn yoga I have learned how to work with my body and to have my body do what I want. I have learned to be better to my body. I mean, I exercise better, eat better, sleep better. I give my body better living conditions and in return my body does what I ask of it.
Now I am more responsible for my body and my health.
